On November 08 2020, just after 2:00 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Perth Line 55, in the Township of Perth East, when two vehicles were observed travelling the same direction, at a high rate of speed. When the officer performed a u-turn in an attempt to pull them over, both vehicles began to flee at a speed in excess of 155km/h. Both vehicles were then stopped by police, and impounded. Both drivers also had their licences suspended, and were charged.
George KORUTH PLAMOOTTIL, 21, of Kitchener, has been charged with:
Race motor vehicle - Excessive Speed
Sanoy Simon MUCKOMMURY, 21, of Kitchener, has been charged with:
Race motor vehicle - Excessive Speed
Seven day driving suspensions and seven day vehicle impoundments were initiated as per statute. Both accused drivers are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
The vehicles in this incident were initially observed travelling less than 120km/h. If they had stopped instead of speeding away, they would have likely received a simple speeding ticket.
