The Guelph Police Service is investigating after more than $5,000 worth of tools were stolen from a trailer.
Monday morning, a resident of Essex Street near Glasgow Street South advised a trailer parked on the street in front of his house had been entered sometime overnight. A large number of Milwaukee-brand power tools and batteries were stolen.

Arrest after roommate assaulted
A Guelph man faces an assault charge after a dispute between roommates Monday evening.
Just before 9 p.m. two men became involved in a verbal dispute inside their home on Stevenson Street North. One of the men was shoved and fell backwards, hitting his head on the floor.
Officers arrived a short time later and found the suspect sitting at the kitchen table. Investigation revealed he is on a probation order with a term to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
A 41-year-old Guelph man is charged with assault and breaching probation. He was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
Man charged following break-in
A Guelph man was arrested Monday following repeated break-ins to an apartment building near downtown.
Police were called Monday morning to the building on Gordon Street near James Street. Video surveillance showed three males entering the buildings workshop late Sunday and early Monday, ultimately leaving with a quantity of tools.
One of the involved males was located downtown later Monday and arrested. A search revealed some of the stolen property.
A 30-year-old Guelph man is charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000 and possessing stolen property. He will appear in court May 7.
