Manslaughter In Huron 23 Year Old Arrested

On March 27th, 2024, members of the Huron OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), charged one person as a result of an opioid overdose, which claimed a life in Central Huron.
On September 13th, 2023, police were called to a residence in Central Huron where a 19-year-old male was found unresponsive and died at the scene. The investigation has revealed that the victim died because of an opioid overdose.
Justin VASEY, now 23-years-old, from Kitchener has been charged with:
Manslaughter contrary to section 236(b) of the Criminal Code (CC); and with
Traffick in Schedule I Substance Opioid (other than heroin) contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act,
Traffick in Schedule I Substance Cocaine contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act,
Possession of Schedule I Substance Cocaine contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Goderich on March 28th, 2024.
