Mathieu BLANCHETTE Impaired Driving

On July 16, 2024, shortly after 3:00 p.m., members of the Iroquois Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) at the intersection of Highway 101 and Highway 572, Hislop Township, when the CMV was stopped.
As a result of the investigation, Mathieu BLANCHETTE, 47 years-old, of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec was arrested and charged with the following:
Operation while impaired drugs
Drive-hand held communication device
The driver was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the CMV was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 5, 2024, in Timmins.
