Drug Bust: Jonathan CHANT-SINON & Megan Anne NICHOLS

On August 2, 2024, around 3:00 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle as a result of an ongoing partnership between police and the Algonquins of Pikwakangan Ontario First Nation Territory.
A quantity of suspected cocaine, money and drug paraphernalia were seized by police. The occupants of the vehicle were arrested without incident.
As a result of the investigation 30-year-old Jonathan CHANT-SINON of North Algona Wilberforce Township has been charged with the following Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substance Act offences:
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine (CDSA);
· Possession of proceeds of crime, CC; and,
· Breach of release conditions.
Co-accused 37-year-old Megan Anne NICHOLS of Renfrew has been charged with:
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine (CDSA); and,
· Possession of proceeds of crime, CC.
Both accused remain in custody pending a bail court hearing, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.
