Repeat Offenders Arrested In Hwy 21 Drug Bust

On August 9, 2024, at 4:25 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were patrolling on Highway 21 near Chesley Lake Road and received an ALPR alert for a suspended driver. A traffic stop was initiated. The driver who is not the owner of the vehicle had a prohibited licence. The driver of the vehicle was arrested. The vehicle was searched and a quantity of cannabis, methamphetamine, fentanyl, ecstasy was located.
Alexis Roote, 28-years-old of Saugeen Shores was charged with:
· Operation while prohibited under the criminal code
· Driving while under suspension
· Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling
· Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking other drugs
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking opioid
· Fail to comply with probation order
Cody Janes, 34-years-old of Huron-Kinloss was charged with:
· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
· Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking other drugs
· Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking opioid
· Carrying concealed weapon
· Unauthorized possession of weapon
· Disobeying order of court
· Fail to comply with probation order
The accused parties were held pending a bail hearing.
