Shawn Michael BAKER Arrested Again

(MIDLAND,ON) – A shoplifting complaint to the OPP Communication Centre in the early hours of October 22, 2024 followed by the return of the suspect to the same Midland Avenue, Midland convenience store near 7:17 a.m. resulted in officers from Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment attending the area to investigate a further assault with a weapon complaint. Attending officers arrested an individual who was found to be creating a disturbance and interacting with a number of individuals in the downtown core area and took possession of a broken golf club and a metal bar.

As a result of these investigations Shawn Michael BAKER 40 years of Brampton has been arrested and held for bail on the following criminal charges.

Mischief – destroys or damages property
Assault with A Weapon (two counts)
Causing a Disturbance
Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
Resist Peace Officer
Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING (two counts)
And further while in police custody the accused committed further criminal acts resulting in the additional charges of.

Mischief to public property – under $5000
The accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date..
