Donald SCHOFIELD – Drunk Driving

(NORTH ALGONA-WILBERFORCE TWP, ON) – A local motorist is facing Criminal Code (CC) charges after a single-vehicle collision in the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment area.

On the afternoon of January 15, 2025, the UOV OPP responded to a single-vehicle rollover collision on Highway 41 near Micksburg Road in North Algona-Wilberforce Township. The driver was not seriously injured. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing. Test results were more than three times the legal blood alcohol limit.

As a result of this incident 62-year-old Donald SCHOFIELD of Bonnechere Valley Township has been charged with the following CC offences:

Operation while impaired – alcohol
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 18, 2025.
