The Guelph Police Service is investigating a possible break-in attempt at a downtown business.
Shortly after 9 a.m. Monday an employee of a business near Gordon Street and Wellington Street arrived to work to find an exterior window smashed and a flashlight left behind. No entry was gained to the business.

Arrest after several incidents
A Guelph man faces charges after a series of disturbances downtown on Friday.
Approximately 2:15 p.m. police were called to the provincial courthouse on Wyndham Street South for reports of a male causing a disturbance by kicking windows and yelling at staff and members of the public.
Officers moved him along, but just over an hour later the same male attended a nearby restaurant where he took a drink without paying, yelled at staff and smashed a window causing more than $500 in damage.
An hour after that, police received several calls from a nearby park about a male near the playground yelling at families and causing some to leave out of fear for their safety.
A 30-year-old Guelph man is charged with mischief under $5,000, causing a disturbance and two counts of breaching a probation order. He was held for bail and has been released to appear in court February 7.
64 bottles of liquor stolen
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after more than 60 bottles of scotch and cognac were stolen from a south-end business in separate incidents Sunday evening.
Approximately 7:15 p.m. a male entered the LCBO store on Scottsdale Drive and began concealing bottles of scotch in his jacket. A short time later a second male attended with a wheeled bag, placed 18 bottles of scotch inside and walked out of the store. The first male then also left the store.
The suspects were described as:
57, 35 to 40 years of age, 160 pounds and wearing a black jacket, blue scarf and blue hat and carrying a blue bag
59, 35 to 40, 180 pounds and wearing a black shirt, green khaki pants, red and black hat with Punisher logo and Converse shoes and pulling a blue roller bag

Less than an hour later, two males entered the same store and made their way to the warehouse section where they began placing high-end products on a cart. They left out a rear door with 44 bottles of scotch and cognac.
They were described as:
Brown male with a beard, wearing a green jacket, grey sweatpants, checkered scarf and black and white shoes
Brown male wearing a black jacket, black pants, black winter hat and white shoes
It is not known if the incidents are related.
