Attempted Murder

On Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at around 10 a.m., police responded to a shooting in the area of Rathburn Road West and Perivale Road, in Mississauga. The suspect and the victim engaged in a verbal dispute resulting in the victim being shot. The victim was transported to a trauma centre and is expected to make a full recovery.
On Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, investigators executed a Criminal Code search warrant at the suspects residence and seized numerous firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and other weapons.
Richard Loo, a 62-year-old man from Mississauga was arrested and charged with the following:
Attempt Murder
Aggravated Assault
Discharge Firearm
Possession of Firearm
Carry Concealed Weapon
Possession at Unauthorized Place
Careless Storage of a Firearm
Point Firearm
Utter Threats
Assault
He was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
