Melodie LAKING Drunk Driving

On the evening of February 7, 2025, members of the UOV OPP responded to reports of a possible impaired driver stuck in a snowbank on Achray Road near Doran Road in the Town of Petawawa. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment where readings in excess of two times the legal blood alcohol limit were obtained.
As a result of this incident 50-year-old Melodie LAKING has been charged with the following CC offences:
· Operation while impaired alcohol
· Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 3, 2025.
