2 Deceased Following Fire

On Thursday, March 13, 2025, shortly before 6:00 p.m., Quinte West Firefighters, Hastings Quinte Paramedics and the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the fire at a trailer park on Highway 2, just east of CFB Trenton.
When emergency services arrived, they found a residential trailer engulfed in flames.
One adult and two children, aged seven and nine, were able to escape. Tragically, a one-year-old child and a 66-year-old woman died in the fire.
A 64-year-old male was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries, while the two children were transported to a childrens hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation by the Quinte West OPP Crime Unit, the Office of the Fire Marshal and Office of the Chief Coroner is continuing.
