27 Trees Cut Down In Wingham One Arrested

On March 31st, 2025, Huron County OPP received a complaint of mischief to a forested area owned by the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA). A total of 27 mature trees had been cut down prior to March 31st. A log home had begun to be built in the same area. Police investigated the complaint and later identified a suspect, who was arrested on April 13th, 2025. The total value of the loss according to the MVCA is $27,000.
Lester BRUBACHER, 34 years of age of no fixed address has been charged with:
Mischief Over $5,000.
The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later released from custody with an appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice Goderich on June 2nd, 2025.
