OPP Invoke Silence & SIU Mandate Again

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Middlesex Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on Butler Street in Lucan Biddulph Township following reports of a disturbance.
Upon police arrival, a male fled in a vehicle, striking two cruisers. The individual was seen heading towards the City of London.
With assistance of members of the London Police Service, OPP officers located and stopped the vehicle on Richmond Street near Jacksway Crescent in the City of London. During the interaction with police, the male became unresponsive. Officers administered first aid, and the male was transported to a local hospital.
As a result, the OPP has notified the provinces Special Investigations Unit which has invoked its mandate. The OPP will not be able to provide further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at [email protected].
