On May 12, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m. members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle with occupants parked at a location on John Street in the City of Pembroke. Officers attended the area and located the vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver police entered into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was taken into custody, and testing was conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer at the detachment. A quantity of suspected methamphetamine was seized during the investigation.
As a result of this investigation 38-year-old Melissa SEVERIN has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs Substances Act (CDSA) offences:
· Operation while impaired drugs
· Possession of a schedule I substance methamphetamine
The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on June 9, 2025.
