Fatal Collision

On June 10, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside local emergency services responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Sideroad 11, just west of Elora.
It was described that a dump truck collided into a nearby hydro pole. As a result, Hydro services were also dispatched to the scene.
As a result, the driver, a 63-year-old resident of Waterloo, was pronounced deceased at scene.
Sideroad 11 between Eighth Line West and Arthur Street North are closed as a result of the investigation. Time of reopening is unknown at this time.
The identity of the deceased individual will not be released out of respect for the familys privacy.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team are assisting Wellington County OPP with the investigation.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Wellington County OPP.
