Repeat Offender Derek SEIP Was Arrested Again

Officers spoke with numerous residents and obtained grounds for several offences taking place in the Chesley area. On August 31, 2025, the individual was arrested after a lengthy engagement with police, bringing a large police presence to a residence along 1st Avenue North in Chesley. Members of the South Bruce OPP, OPP Canine, Crisis Negotiators, and the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) were involved.
Between multiple incidents, Derek SEIP, 31-years-old, resident of Chesley, has been charged with:
Fail to comply with probation order, CC 733.1(1) 9 counts
Fail to comply with release order, CC 145(5)(a) 4 counts
Fail to comply with undertaking, CC 145(4)(a)
Mischief, CC 430(1)(c) 8 counts
Trespassing at night, CC 177 3 counts
Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, CC 88
Utter threats, CC 264.1(1)(a) 2 counts
The accused was held for a bail hearing on August 31, 2025, and subsequently remanded into custody.
