Fentanyl Bust Tanya BURRY Arrested

On Saturday, December 6, 2025, just after 5:00 p.m., Bancroft OPP officers received a traffic complaint from a member of the public. A short time later officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for impaired operation and was searched, which officers located over 6g of suspected fentanyl. The accused was then transported to the Bancroft OPP detachment for further testing and refused to participate in testing with a Drug Recognition Expert.
Tanya BURRY, a 35-year-old resident of Peterborough, has been charged with the following:
Operation while impaired drugs
Refusal to comply with demand
Dangerous operation
Possession of a schedule I substance
The accuseds licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on January 6, 2026.
