Police investigated information that an individual had fired gun shots in the direction of snowmobile operators on December 08, 2025. Huron OPP officers identified the suspect who was subsequently charged on December 23, 2025 with the following offences:
David SCOTT, 60 years-of-age of Huron East has been charged with the following criminal offences:
Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition (five counts).
Several firearms were seized from the accused as part of the investigation along with their possession acquisition licence (PAL).
The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice Goderich on February 02, 2026.
