Cobalt Drug Bust

On Monday, January 19, 2026, officers executed a CDSA search warrant as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. As a result of the search, police seized multiple cellular phones, drug paraphernalia, Canadian currency, as well as suspected controlled substances including fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine, heroin, speed, crystal methamphetamine, and hydromorphone pills. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $100,000.
Three individuals were arrested and charged in connection with the investigation. William Murray, 69 years of age, Courtney Hale, 31 years of age, and Phoebe Bourassa, 31 years of age, all residents of Cobalt, have been charged with:
Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of property obtained by crime
All three accused were held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury at a later date.
