Jason ALBERT – Impaired Driving

Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on February 13, OPP stopped a vehicle on Carling Avenue after receiving an alert from the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) camera that the registered owner of a vehicle was a suspended driver. Upon speaking with the driver, police suspected the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening device was utilized and the driver was brought back to Ottawa Detachment for further testing. Police also discovered there was an arrest warrant for the driver from Ottawa Police Service (OPS)
As a result, Jason ALBERT, 43 years of age faces the following charges:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Driving while under suspension
Drive a motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
The accused received a 90-day driving suspension and had his vehicle impounded for seven days. Custody of the accused was transferred to OPS after OPP had concluded their testing. He is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
