Drug Bust At RIDE

On April 14, 2024, a vehicle entered a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in the Town of Kirkland Lake. Members of the Kirkland Lake OPP determined one of the occupants was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
As a result of the investigation, police located and seized drugs suspected to be fentanyl, methamphetamine, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and drug paraphernalia with an approximate street value of $6,320.00.
As a result of the investigation, Karen PICHE, 41-years-old, of Senneterre, Quebec was charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid
Possession of a Schedule III substance
Failure to comply with release order other than to attend court
Fail to comply with probation order three counts
Jean Francois BARIL-LANDRY, 38-years-old, of Senneterre, Quebec was charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
Fail to comply with probation order two counts
Nathaniel AUMOND, 36-years-old, of Amos, Quebec was charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine.
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid
Fail to surrender insurance card
Jean Francois BARIL-LANDRY and Nathaniel AUMOND have been released and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 30, 2024.
Kim PICHE was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
